Empire State Building

ankit bhardwaj
Easily one of the most famous buildings in the world (if only by name), the Empire State Building literally soars above all other sky scrapers of the super-city of New York and a trip to the top of the Empire State is one of the ‘must do’ things in Manhattan.

The building became famous not only for the rate at which it was constructed, but also when completed, it was the tallest man made structure in the world (overtaking previous record holders including New York’s own Chrysler building, the Eiffel Tower in Paris). The fact that it resides in one of the most famous cities in the world also adds to the buildings mystique while movies such as King Kong have also immortalized the structure.

Even though you are surrounded by so many other tall, tall buildings in Manhattan, there are quite a few places in the city where you can clearly see the distinctive top of the the Empire State building above the others and during the evenings the top of the building is even easier to see as it is often lit in different colours.

The views from the 86th floor observation deck (1,050 feet or 320 meters above the street) are easily the best in the city and are simply breath-taking. The building is open until late int he evening so you can take the elevator to the top day or night and when the weather is clear you can see the whole island of Manhattan and the other Burroughs of New York as well as Central Park, New Jersey, the Statue of Liberty and so much more.

The Grizzly and Polar Bears

This holiday combines two of the best bear watching locations in Canada - Knight Inlet and Churchill.
Knight Inlet is home to one of the largest concentrations of grizzly (brown) bears in British Columbia. It is not uncommon for up to 50 bears to be within a few miles of the lodge during the peak fall season when the salmon are running up the Glendale River. The town of Churchill is known as the "Polar Bear Capital of the World". Every autumn, polar bears gather along the water's edge near the town, anxiously waiting for the sea ice to form

Tides and Parks of Atlantic Canada

A fly-drive holiday exploring the Atlantic provinces' most magnificent sights from the picturesque fishing villages of Nova Scotia to the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. Highlights include Prince Edward Island, Cape Breton, the Bras d'Or Lake and the Cabot Trail. Enjoy included whalewatching, sea kayaking and two wildlife cruises

St. Lawrence Journey

St. Lawrence River to its gulf...and the sea. Crossing the river by ferry, you visit the Gaspe Peninsula, where seabirds live in colonies of thousands on the coast, and descendants of Canada's early french settlers fish and farm in tiny villages clinging to the coast. Continuing to New Brunswick, you experience the Bay of Fundy, with the highest recorded tides in the world. Your journey ends at Halifax, Nova Scotia, a seaport from wooden ship days, where schooners can still be seen in the harbour next to the busy restored water front.

Great Atlantic National Parks

If Canada's nature is your interest, this is your trip. Untouched landcapes, abundant wildlife combined with friendly service and Canadian "down-home" hospitality. Those who enjoy nature will find this a paradise: from moose to whales, from sun-baked sand beaches to icebergs; from wild forests, lakes and rivers to barren mountaintops; from fjords to waterfalls; from some of the largest seabird colonies in the world to endangered turtles; Atlantic Canada has it all!

Canada Maritime

Acadia is the name that early explorers gave to the Maritime coast of Canada, perhaps because it reminded them of Arcadia of ancient Greece. This trip leads you from the southern coast of Nova Scotia, a mosaic of picturesque fishing villages, rocky points, forested islands, and broad sand beaches, to the wild coast of the Gaspesie, with its huge seabird colonies and steep cliffs. En route you will experience the Bay of Fundy, home of the world's highest tides, the Gulf coast of New Brunswick with its long sand bars and dunes; and the red cliffs of Prince Edward Island. Finally, you drive the Cabot Trail, eastern America’s best-loved scenic drive, as you return to Halifax.

Great National Parks of Quebec and the Maritimes Fly-Drive

Seven of Canada's National Parks, protecting wild rivers, lakes, forests, and unique landscapes in the heart of the country, plus three great cities: Montreal, Quebec City , and Halifax! Canada has many kinds of parks... but her National Parks are truly the jewels in the country's crown. Although the National Parks in Quebec and the Maritimes are not as well-known as in the rest of the country, each is spectacular in its own way. La Mauricie National Park boasts forest walks, tumbling rivers, and quiet lake canoeing. Forillon is wild seacoast; Kouchibouguac boasts rich estuaries; Fundy is home to the world's highest tides; Prince Edward Island has world-class sand beaches; Cape Breton contains the Cabot Trail, eastern America's most famous scenic drive; Kejimkujik preserves remnants of ancient Indian civilizations and modern canoe routes. Canada's Maritime Provinces are famous for their relaxed lifestyle. In rural communities people live a lifestyle like something out of our grandparents' time. Stay in the countryside in comfortable accommodation near each park and in modern city hotels.
